Essential oils can be used in massage, in fragrance or therapeutic bathing, applied to the skin for minor first aid or cosmetic skin care, in personal perfume, or by vaporizing the oils for environmental fragrances. They can be used for the treatment of a multitude of different conditions whether they are emotional or physical complaints. Some of the more common uses would be the treatment of coughs and colds, muscular aches and pains, cuts, burns and insect bites, cosmetic skin care including eczema, blemishes, wrinkles, or in everyday cleansing, toning and moisturizing of the skin. They can also be used to help relieve stress-related symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, nervous tension, depression and insomnia. The oils may be evaporated into the air for purification, to repel insects, or just for their pleasant aromas.
Essential oils are not to be used internally as they are very concentrated, and can be potentially irritating when ingested or used undiluted. For that reason most of the oils should be diluted before application to the skin. A few of the oils may be applied undiluted as perfume or in spot application in minor first aid treatments. Essential oils should not be used on young babies, and should be heavily diluted for children under twelve; pregnant women should use caution and consult a guide when choosing their oils.
Some of the more common dilutants would be carrier oils such as sweet almond oil, wheatgerm oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil or grapeseed oil, amongst others. All of these may be used for body or facial massage, as an emollient for the skin, or put into the bath water for a fragrant bath.
1% blend is recommended for skin care and children. 2% blend for massage and 3% for both blend in carrier oil or a non-scented bath and shower gel.

First, it is important to understand that Far Infrared Light Waves, specifically tuned to the human body’s resonant frequency, work through a process called Direct Light Conversion. This means that light energy enters the body, penetrating up to three inches deep, and is converted to heat. This action is also called Radiant Heat because it heats the body directly, not the air around the body.
Exposing the body to Radiant heat increases the body natural homeostatic responses which include: accelerated peripheral (blood vessels close to the skin) blood flow and improved circulation, vasodilatation of blood vessels, oxygenation and toxin removal from muscles and fatty tissue. This anabolic response triggers the autonomic nervous system to nourish, heal and regenerate both physical and emotional health conditions.
Infrared Heat warms all the tissues, joints, bones, ligaments and tendons in a particular damaged area. Increased blood flow and vasodilation brings needed nutrients, hormones, and healing oxygen to the damaged area while draining off cellular waste products.
Damaged cells which cause pain have a negative electrical charge. Far Infrared Energy reverses the electrical polarity of the affected cells very quickly and pain sensations are noticeably reduced.
Infrared Heat causes tissue expansion in the damaged area which relieves pressure on the affected area, thereby reducing pain. As the muscles relax from the heat, tension subsides and a soothing relaxed feeling is readily noticeable.
Radiant Infrared Heat rebalances and nourishes the enzymes in Synovial Joint Fluid which help keep joints healthy, flexible and properly lubricated.
Far Infrared Energy activates Arginine in the body to create an increased supply of Nitric Oxide (NO) [not Nitrous Oxide… that’s laughing Gas!] in the blood which enables the hemoglobin to deliver higher concentrations of healing oxygen and nutrients to injured cell areas! Nitric Oxide (NO) relaxes arteries and expands blood vessels and capillaries, which helps to remain normal blood pressure. It is a free radial scavenger that lowers serum cholesterol and prevents bad LDL from oxidizing and becoming worse. Nitric Oxide is used by different immune system cells to kill bacteria, viruses and even shrink some cancerous tumours.
Nitric Oxide stimulates the body into releasing its own human growth hormone, which is key to Longevity. Lean muscle mass and bone density are boosted while decreasing fat tissue. Insulin regulation, increased rate of healing, long term memory and adequate blood flow to the brain are all characteristics of Nitric Oxide in the body.
“Nitric Oxide is a beneficial neurotransmitter in the brain and peripheral autonomic nervous system which causes all the muscles and body systems to relax causing the body to become unstressed and relaxed.” According to Harpers Biochemistry, 24th Edition, Chapter 58.
Pharmacologists, Robert fuchgott, Louis Ignarro and Ferid Murad won the Nobel Prize in 1996 for their work regarding the effects of Nitric Oxide in the human body. There are more that 10,000 clinical Studies on No.
Stretching during your Infrared Sauna Sessions produces elongation of muscles, ligaments and tendons which will have residual effects allowing to have more body flexibility and range of motion. This is very useful in warm-ups for athletic endeavours and helps to minimize the time needed to heal from injuries.
Ischemia (localized tissue anemia due to lack of arterial blood flow) manifests itself in chronic knotty muscles and muscle spasms. Infrared Hyperthermia causes blood vessel, expanding constricted tissue and muscle areas and eliminating muscle spasms at the source.
Infrared Radiant Heat eliminates pain sensation via direct cause and effect on free nerve endings, tangled nerve ganglia and peripheral nerves. Infrared Hyperthermia increases endorphin production which negates pain signals sent from the nerves in the spinal column.
The process of “Resonant Absorption” of Far Infrared rays through the use of Sauna Therapy has a wonderful effect on the skin and complexion. Amazing, Fast Results for Acne conditions are achieved through purging excess skin oils and by shrinking the sebaceous glands. Facial Lines and Crows Feet fade away. Pores are unclogged ridding the skin of dirt and waste accumulated over the years. Enlarged pores become smaller. Age spots fade and eventually disappear. Eye bags and dark circles under the eyes clear up with improved circulation. After a few months, the complexion takes on a distinctive, healthy glow reminiscent of the lovely aura that surrounds the face of pregnant women.
As the body is detoxified through Infrared through included expulsion of toxins via sweating, kidney and bowels, the Immune System is noticeably strengthened! Increased white blood cell production helps ward off viruses, harmful bacteria and germs. Enhanced cardiovascular activity and peripheral blood circulation keep veins and arteries flexible and help eliminate plaque and cellular waste. As the body’s PH level becomes slightly alkaline, disease and infections cannot multiply. Since the body no longer has to fight off an unmanageable toxic overload accumulated over time, it can function at an optimum level of cellular healing and disease prevention.
At Beyond Wrapture, we offer Far Infrared Sauna Therapy. Contact us to experience the healing power of Infrared Heat on your body.
Dr. Sasaki Kyuo, M.D. has done extensive research on the therapeutic uses of Far Infrared Therapy. She is the author of “The Scientific Basis and Therapeutic Benefits of Far Infrared Ray Therapy” which is an extensive and documented treatise on the clinical effects of Far Infrared Therapy.

As early as the fourth century B.C., the Romans engaged in an annual young man's rite to passage to the God Lupercus. The names of the teenage women were placed in a box and drawn at random by adolescent men; thus, a man was assigned a woman companion for the duration of the year, after which another lottery was staged. After eight hundred years of this cruel practice, the early church fathers sought to end it... They found an answer in Valentine, a bishop who had been martyred some two hundred years earlier.
According to church tradition St. Valentine was a priest near Rome in about the year 270 A.D. At that time the Roman Emperor Claudius-II who had issued an edict forbidding marriage. This was around when the heyday of the Roman Empire had almost come to an end. Lack of quality administrators led to frequent civil strife. Learning declined, taxation increased, and trade slumped to a low, precarious level. And the Gauls, Slavs, Huns, Turks and Mongolians from Northern Europe and Asian increased their pressure on the empire's boundaries. The empire was grown too large to be shielded from external aggression and internal chaos with existing forces. Thus, more capable men were required to be recruited as soldiers and officers. When Claudius became the emperor, he felt that married men were more emotionally attached to their families, and thus, will not make good soldiers. So to assure quality soldiers, he banned marriage.
Valentine, a bishop, seeing the trauma of young lovers, met them in a secret place, and joined them in the sacrament of matrimony. Claudius learned of this "friend of lovers," and had him arrested. The emperor, impressed with the young priest's dignity and conviction, attempted to convert him to the Roman Gods, to save him from certain execution. Valentine refused to recognize Roman Gods and even attempted to convert the emperor, knowing the consequences fully. On February 24, 270, Valentine was executed.
While Valentine was in prison awaiting his fate, he came in contact with his jailor, Asterius. The jailor had a blind daughter. Asterius requested him to heal his daughter. Through his faith, he miraculously restored the sight of Asterius' daughter. Just before his execution, he asked for a pen and paper from his jailor and signed a farewell message to her "From Your Valentine," a phrase that lived ever after.
Valentine thus became a Patron Saint and spiritual overseer of an annual festival. The festival involved young Romans offering women they admired, and wished to court, handwritten greetings of affection on February 14. The greeting cards acquired St.Valentine's name.
The Valentine's Day card spread with Christianity and is now celebrated all over the world. One of the earliest cards was sent in 1415 by Charles, Duke of Orleans, to his wife while he was a prisoner in the Tower of London. The card is now preserved in the British Museum.

Aromatherapy is the skilled use of specific pure essential oils for physical, psychological, and aesthetic purposes. In addition to benefiting the skin, aromatherapy offers emotional and physical benefits in the areas of relaxation, energy, and mood alteration. Pure essential oils will uplift the spirit, refresh the mind, and rejuvenate the body.
Essential oils are quickly absorbed into the skin via the hair follicles so that massage and bathing in the oils are very effective ways to implement the benefits of aromatherapy into your life.
Essential oils are the most concentrated and profoundly powerful of all extracts, for example, they are about 75-100 times more concentrated that dried herbs.
Aromatherapy is the only therapy that utilizes the most neglected of the senses; smell. Located at the top and side of the inner nasal cavity is the olfactory bulb. It is covered with a membrane of about 10 million cells called the olfactory epithelium. These are brain cells and are the only place in the body where nerve cells are in direct contact with the environment. We are capable of detecting minute amounts of odor and our brain sorts them out and sends the stimulus to the appropriate area of the brain. Fragrant odors are sent to the limbic system which releases neurotransmitters that affect how we feel; calm, relaxed, awake etc.
Holistic therapy for the mind, body and spirit. We can find many ways in our every day activities to incorporate the benefits of aromatherapy: to invigorate and stimulate upon rising, to soothe and to calm at the close of a busy day.
Essential oils can soothe inflammation, act as an antiseptic, dull pain, and stimulate digestion; however, the fragrances also work more subtly, via the olfactory nerves in the brain’s primitive limbic system – one of the oldest parts of the brain containing the centers of memory, emotion, creativity, and sexuality.
Safe and simple to use, we can benefit from nature’s offerings. Aromatherapy is the doorway to optimum health and vitality.
The history or perfumes, essences and oils begin nearly 4000 years ago in the Near East. The first perfumes were the aromatics kindled as incense to the gods. It was the Ancient Egyptians who discovered enfleurage (pressing aromatics into fatty oils) and indulged themselves in elaborate beauty and relaxation rituals; however, this technique fell out of favor for many hundreds of years, re-emerging in the eighteenth century. Hippocrates, the father of medicine, said “the way to health is to have an aromatic bath and scented massage every day.” His theory coincided with that of Rene Maurice Gatlefosse, a French cosmetic chemist, who coined the title ‘aromatherapy’ about twenty years ago.
The human body contains hundreds of locations where there is focused and concentrated energy. There are, however, seven major energy centers, commonly referred to as “chakras.” Chakra is a Sanskrit word, which means, “wheel.” The chakras are similar to wheels, in that they are spinning vortexes of energy. They are centers of force, located within our etheric body, through which we receive, transmit, and process life energies.
Each chakra in the body is recognized as a focal point of life force relating to physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual energies. The chakras are the network through which body, mind, and spirit interact as one holistic system. The seven major chakras correspond to specific aspects of our consciousness and have their own individual characteristics and functions. Each has a correspondent relationship to one of the various glands of the body’s endocrine system, as well as to one of the seven colors of the rainbow spectrum.
The main purpose in working with and understanding the chakras is to create integration and wholeness within ourselves. In this way we free the various aspects of our consciousness, from the physical to the spiritual, into a harmonious relationship. Ultimately, we begin to recognize that the different aspects of ourselves (physical, natural, secular, spiritual, etc.) all work together and that each aspect is as much a part of the whole as the others. We must be able to acknowledge, accept and integrate all levels of our being.
To help us in the process of our enfoldment it is important to understand that chakras are doorways for our consciousness, through which emotional, mental, and spiritual force flow into physical expression. They are openings through which our attitudes and belief systems enter into and create our body/mind structure. The energy created from our emotions and mental attitudes runs through the chakras and is distributed to our cells, tissues, and organs. Realizing this brings tremendous insight into how we ourselves affect our bodies, minds, and circumstances for better or worse.
To understand the chakras and their relationship to our consciousness is to better understand ourselves. Understanding ourselves will enable us to make our choices and decisions form a place of awareness and balance rather than being blindly influenced by forces we do not understand. The ancient adage still echoes…”know thyself.”
